Ellen Page is all the Rage

"Geez, Banana! Shut your freakin' gob!" Cries Ellen Page as the Juno Mcguff. Starting with her breakout role in 2007, I don't think anyone could ever forget her. Since then she's graduated from hilarious indie-filmer to co-starring with Drew Barrymore (Whip it. Maybe the greatest movie..ever?) and Leonardo Dicaprio (Inception). Without arrests of any kind, alcohol abuse, sex scandals...really, does she have a mishap to date? She's 23. Who knows what project she'll take on next? I can't wait to find out

MOVIES of the MOMENT.

The Chronicles of Jesus (Narnia), Opium Nightmare (Black Swan), and Tobacco Spit (True Grit)

The Chronicles of Narnia: Curse of the Dawn Treader.. Rating: PG 3/5 stars

“For Narnia!” The mythical creatures scream. The Curse of the Dawn Treader is here and the finale offers plenty of adventure, mythical beasts, treasure and talking mice. Georgie Henley and Skander Keynes return as Lucy and Edmund Pevensie. The Dawn Treader is a mythical Narnian ship and the gang is along for the ride. Prince Caspian returns from the previous film as the captain. As the film comes to a close, the king of the jungle reveals he is also the king of...the Church? We knew it was coming. The children stare up into the wise eyes of their savior as he explains the entire purpose of their travels to Narnia was to get closer to him in the other world. The next time you go to Church, I advise throwing a raw steak into the offering bowl.

Black Swan Rating: R.. 4.5/5 stars!

Take flight with Black Swan. The new racy, smoky thriller directed by Darren Aronofsky is a fever dream of intrigue. Nina (Natalie Portman) has finally gotten her share of the spotlight at an affluent New York ballet company, cast as Swan Queen in a twisted take of Swan Lake. Her nightmares come to life when she begins to drown in psychological ocean of her worst fears and terror. Threatened by rival ballerinas, her sex-obsessed ballet instructor, and her own conscious, this is a film that does not haunt your dreams—but becomes them.

True Grit rating: PG-13.. 2.5/5 stars

There is no true grit. There is a drunken cowboy and a middle school girl who wander around the desert. Though the performances were phenomenal and the characters well developed, the plot flopped. Hailee Stienfleld impresses as feisty Mattie Nass. She sets out to avenge the death of her daddy from his murderer, Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin). She hires U.S. Marshall Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) to hunt down the rascal. What does he accomplish in the dessert? Shoot at biscuits and gurgle tobacco. Despite the two inches of grime covering his face, you will laugh like a hyenna. Hilarious and cynical, Bridges reminds us what it takes to portray a notorious character like Rooster and allow us to believe it. It takes true grit.

All that glitters is diamonds

Artist : Marina Diamandis "Marina and the Diamonds"
Ancestry : Greek
Music Genre : Pop (With a clever synthesism that is all of her own)

Marina and the Diamonds. It sounds more like a sexed up brigade of gypsies than a one woman show. Armored with a colorful, if not stunning voice, the Greek Marina Diamandis glitters. No one will be wary to embrace her. She artfully incoorperates quirky, original lyrics and leaves little space in tracks for the instrumentals to linger awkwardly. Her lyrics have a very broad spectrum, speaking about the stereotypes of women, one night stands, her concrete work ethic, fickle hollywood bimbos and yes, Hermit the Frog. The genre is pop, but it is so much more. This diamond will eternally shine.

I'm a journalist. I love people. I love blogging and reaching people. So, if you're interested, I have a project in mind. The first five people who "follow me". I would email you a set of questions interviewing you for you to answer. I would write a story about you if you like. If you still want to follow me but don't want to be written about, it's quite alright ;) But personality profiles are always quite fun. Especially with complete strangers. The offer always stands... ;)

Coffee. Keyboards. Bitching editors breathing down your neck. What else is new? But I confess. I love it. Mostly every minute of it.

Kounting Kristens

I love powerful ambitious intelligent and genuine women. KRISTEN STEWART fits this description perfectly. I love her. I love the roles she chooses. She's genuine intelligent fashionable, a brilliant actress, and of course, badass. She's everything most of these blonde bimbo idiots aren't--which in my opinion is fantastic. Kstew 4eva...

awesome.
Ok. First of all, Twilight. Love it, hate it...I'm going to say neither. Because, 1. They could have done much worse with the casting. I liked it. 2. It made kristen stewart famous, benefitting us all with a breath of fresh air in the form of a brilliant new actress. It was ok; a good start for our heroin.
The Yellow Handkerchief..if you haven't seen this movie, you really have to!! It's a touching independant drama. Kristen, (Martine) falls in love with the geekiest of outcasts (my favorite kind of outcast). The movie orbits around how the past can affect your future...but it has to be you who lets it go and start again.

RAAAH!! This movie was sensational, and kristen stewart made it so. she was flawless as Joan Jett. You could tell she immersed herself into this role; she became this character. She was the voice of a pioneer. A pioneer of rock and roll, female impowerment. She was so powerful in her performance. It did change me, and if you watch it, it will change you.

This woman has been in so many more brilliant films. The Messenger, In the Land of women,
Speak, Fierce people, Into the wild, and many more. Kristen Stewart has impacted the media with her films and her attitude. Let's pray that there are more like her still coming.

Dark Angel

You know her. You LOVE her. She is the epitome of the empowered woman. She carved the path for thousands of women to enter the music business and be taken seriously. I love her, and with her genuine ferocity and uniqueness, I wonder how anyone else couldn't.
So beautiful. So powerful. So iconic. So...Joan.
